Kate Walsh: a scent of a woman

“I worked so hard to get the notes just right,’’ says Walsh, who is hands-on in all aspects of production, from packaging and designing to starring in the sexy online commercials.
She’s have a great time as entrepreneur: “I love it, I’m just obsessed. The fun offsets the huge financial risk.’’
In between running her own perfume empire, Walsh has a full-time career in acting, starring as Dr. Addison Montgomery, first on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, and now in its spinoff, Private Practice. The cast and crew boot up next month to film Season 5.
“It’s going to be really exciting,’’ she says. “What I love about the show is that I feel it’s gotten more interesting and fresh, which is not usually how things go.’’
Will Addison have a baby? Maybe.
“We are going to explore that,’’ hints Walsh.
“Even though Private Practice centers around medicine, we are going to deal with various issues: ethical, political, social and moral,’’ she allows. “Next season will be more out of the box. We may devote an entire episode to one single character.’’

Kate Walsh graces the cover of So Scottsdale’s June issue.
Here’s what the 43-year-old Private Practice star had to share with the mag:
On if she’s like her character, Dr. Addison Montgomery: “Yes and no. I’m like her in the sense that I think I’m ambitious and strong and maybe a little willful. I enjoy fashion and ladies’ shoes but I’m clearly not a doctor and I’m fallible but I don’t think in the same way that Addison is.”
On whether she prefers doing TV, movies, or theater: “I love the immediacy of television … I love features because there’s a beginning, middle and an end, and the same with doing a full play. There’s nothing like doing theater because you feel like a bit of a rock star – you’re in front of a live audience and you have, hopefully, their undivided attention for a couple of hours.”
On if she has a boyfriend right now: “Oh, I don’t like to talk about that! I like to keep that stuff private. I’m dating and that’s all I’ll say about it. And I’ll say that I’m surrounded by love – I have great friends and family.”

Kate joins cast of ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’
Kate Walsh is joining Emma Watson and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, EW has learned exclusively. Walsh will play a smart, Midwestern mother concerned about her shy high school freshman son (Lerman), who is befriended by a party-happy high school senior (Watson). Stephen Chbosky, the author of controversial young adult novel, is directing from his own screenplay; production is currently underway in Pittsburgh. Mae Whitman and Johnny Simmons (both from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), and Nina Dobrev (The CW’s Vampire Diaries) also star in the film.
